- Sign in to your Google account, and open the Google Docs website.

- After opening the document, the first thing to do is to locate the two rulers, one placed on top of the document, and the other on the left side of the document. The rulers should be written on them 1, 2, 3, and so on.

- Likewise, if you look at the ruler or scale on the left side of your document, you will again see that some part of the ruler has become darker. If you place your cursor again on the edge of the darkened part, you will see that the cursor will turn horizontally into a two-pointed arrow. Change margin using advanced options
Adjusting the margin to change a top and bottom margin is slightly more difficult by using advanced options. To do this, click on the File tab in the upper-left corner of the page.
